A man who was shot and killed by Florence County deputies has been identified.
On Sunday, deputies responded to an active shooter call on W. Lucas Street. 57-year-old Robert Napper allegedly fired into a vehicle with two people inside. Those victims were not injured.
Napper attempted to speed away but crashed his vehicle into a ditch and overturned along a frontage road. He allegedly continued to shoot from inside his vehicle before deputies returned fire.
Napper was struck and taken to a hospital where he later died. No deputies were injured during the shooting and the investigation remains active.
